Alright, I must admit that this is definitely a cheap (only $21.99 at Amazon at the time of this writing) and lower-end drip coffee maker. And yet I surprised myself to find that I absolutely love this little machine! It’s just such a darn convenient little device which has come in handy so many times in my life!
It features a permanent filter, which by my rules is normally a huge no-no due to the effect it will have on the end result. Since this coffee maker is all about speed, however, the permanent filter is a big benefit in this case, even if it does comes at the cost of lower quality. Quick to start brewing, and quick to clean. Perfect! And at the end of the day, the coffee this machine makes really isn’t bad! It’s just not as great as a higher end drip coffee maker. That doesn’t mean the coffee can’t be enjoyable!
Another great bonus is that it brews the coffee directly into a perfectly acceptable travel mug! No, it’s not as great as the stainless steel coffee mugs you can buy separately at the same price as this entire coffee maker obviously, but this really is brilliant value for money.
So to summarize, Decent travel mug + decent coffee at super speed and excellent price = Black & Decker DCM18S Brew ‘n Go. While I certainly would not recommend this is your primary coffee maker, it’s excellent to have this one on the side for those occasion when you find yourself out of coffee and just got to have one right now! Who hasn’t forgotten to set the timer on their drip coffee maker before going to sleep, and you’re in a hurry to get to work the following morning? That’s when this coffee maker is a life saver.
